Polyester Webbing
Tough, UV resistant woven Polyester. Available in Petrol(blue/grey) or Ochre pattern. Efficient PTFE ice/water repellent is chemically bonded to the webbing.

VELCRO™ Brand
We use high quality Velcro hook and loop fastener tape made from DuPont™ Nylon. An efficient PTFE ice/water repellent is chemically bonded to the fastener tape. This uniquely maintains the tear-apart strength of wet hook and loop and effective in preventing ice buildup.

VELCRO Nylon fasteners consist of two mating components: hook and loop. The woven hook tape consists of minute, flexible "hooks" which engage with a mating loop tape comprised of small, soft "loops." When pressed together, the resulting closure is adjustable, highly secure and jam proof. To reopen (cycle), the closure is simply peeled apart. VELCRO brand woven hook and loop tapes are manufactured by a precise and refined weaving process which ensures uniformity of dimensions and construction.

Loop #2000 is used on all inner straps. An unnapped loop tape with a greater cycle life, less peel resistance and greater shear strength. Typically used where closure is to be effected around a radius (such as a strapping application). Napped loop tape is used around the heel strap to stow excess webbing.

What is "napped" versus "unnapped" loop? Essentially, napped tape consists of woven nylon loops that are "randomly disoriented" in a separate operation after weaving. An unnapped tape is a woven nylon tape that is not napped. Where the loop remains attached in its stronger natural woven state.

DWR
Durable Water Repellent, an efficient PTFE(Teflon) ice/water repellent is chemically bonded to both the webbing and Velcro. This helps to prevent ice buildup, and uniquely maintains the tear-apart and shear strength of wet hook and loop.

Stitching
Stitching is heavy weight No 40 bonded nylon thread, manufactured by Venus of England. It is the toughest , most abrasion-resistant thread we can find. Load carrying junctions are reinforced. Materials used will not deteriorate if stored whilst wet.
